He  felt that energy was one of the key forces driving equilibrium in the universe.  Reiki uses the very same energy, it exists in all forms of life – animate and inanimate. Reiki harnesses this energy which flows through the universe and can make our individual lives better.

A brief history of Reiki

So what exactly is Reiki? It is an ancient technique, rediscovered by Mikao Usui, a Japanese theologian, in the early 20th century. The Japanese word Reiki means ‘Universal Energy’, the energy that flows through everything. Your life and energy can benefit from Reiki for you and your home.

Eastern medicine is based on this and works with it. Known as ‘ki’ in Japan, ‘chi’ in China and ‘prana’ in India. Acupuncture, T’ai chi and Yoga are all based on recognizing and using the flow of this energy for health and well-being.
